About The Author
Jackie Allen Kuhn is a licensed Occupational Therapist with 25 years experience. She combines her background as a Therapist with her training as a Registered Hatha Yoga teacher for a safe and effective Yoga practice.
Jackie is a firm believer that Yoga has great personal and physical benefits for everyone. Special Kids Yoga (SKY), founded by Jackie and her partner Ginny, taught Yoga at Easter Seals Camp for children with disabilities, New Berlin Therapies, Camp Team up, MASH camp for juvenile arthritis and in small group classes in the Milwaukee area since 2002. SKY has also taught workshops on “Empowering the Whole Child Through Yoga” for OT/PT/SLP in area schools.
Jackie has published a study on the positive benefits of Yoga for the Parkinson’s individual in the OT Advance Professional Journal and wrote an article about Yoga that was published in Exceptional Parent magazine. She has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University on “The Science of Yoga; The benefits of Yoga for the Parkinson’s individual.”
Jackie’s goal is to make Yoga accessible to all. Jackie is also a recipient of the deaf Kiwanis club scholarship in 1981 and has progressive hearing loss.
